css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1559237275491{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h1>Faculty Senate<\/h1>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The North Park Faculty Senate is a legislative body of 25 faculty members elected to faithfully represent its interests, goals, and values (Bylaws VII.A).<\/p>\n<p>As the chief academic policy-making body of the faculty, the purpose of the Senate is to assure faculty participation in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of select University policies and goals.<\/p>\n<div class=\"leftcontent\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;99481&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][vc_column_text]Clockwise:\u00a0 Evan Kuehn, Parliamentarian; Kelly VanderBrug, Secretary; Mark Gavoor, President; Boaz Johnson, Vice-President[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=&#8221;30&#8243;][vc_column css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1559237275491{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"leftcontent\">\n<p>This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Representing the faculty in the governance of the University;<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging active faculty participation in the initiation, development, implementation and evaluation of University policies and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Discussing and recommending policies and procedures affecting the University as a whole;<\/li>\n<li>Promoting the welfare of the faculty, students, and University;<\/li>\n<li>Promoting academic excellence within the University community; and<\/li>\n<li>Promoting open communication and collaboration (Bylaws VII.B).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The faculty initially approved the formation of the Senate in February 2008; a Senate Procedures Committee wrote the Faculty and Senate Bylaws between 2008 and 2010;
